JEE Advanced 2023 Live Updates: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 today, June 4. The entrance exam was held in two shifts – the first paper ended at 12 pm and the second one at 5:30 pm.
Candidates had to bring their JEE Advanced admit card and other required documents to the exam venue. Specific instructions for the exam day were given on admit cards which can be downloaded from jee adv.ac.in.

Official answer keys of JEE Advanced will be issued on June 11 and candidates’ responses will be uploaded on June 9.

The Chemistry part was above medium.

The total mark in JEE Advanced 2023 paper 1 was 180. The paper had 51 questions with 17 questions from each subject.
The Paper-1 had three parts- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The maximum mark for each part was 60.
In each part, there were four sections:

JEE Advanced 2023 paper 1: Maths rated difficult
Mathematics was tricky & difficult for students. There were tricky and lengthy questions from Vectors and 3D Geometry. There were questions from Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Statistics & Probability. Some good questions were asked in chapters on Probability, Complex Numbers, 3-D Geometry, and Parabolas. Students felt this section was the Toughest.

JEE Advanced 2023 analysis: Physics in shift 1, paper 1
More weightage was given to chapters like Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, Capacitors, Current Electricity, Kinematics, Gravitation, Optics, and Electrostatics.
Overall, Physics was easy compared to the other two subjects as per students.

JEE Advanced 2023 analysis: Chemistry
Chemistry was not balanced as per students. Inorganic Chemistry had few questions which were directly from NCERT.
In Physical Chemistry, questions covered chapters on Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, and Atomic Structure.
Thermodynamics (with more than one question). In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked about Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen-containing Compounds, and some named reactions were also asked.
Mixed concepts questions were asked. This section was reported Moderate as per students. More weightage is given to Organic Chemistry.

IIT Guwahati has not provided any specific instructions regarding JEE Advanced dress code in the information bulletin. If guidelines are given on admit cards, candidates are advised to follow it and if it is not given on admit cards as well, it is in the best interest of candidates that they follow the JEE Main dress code.

JEE Advanced 2023: How to answer questions that require keyboard inputs?
At any given time, do not use the physical keyboard. Use only the pointer/mouse, virtual keyboard and virtual calculator for writing/choosing answers, doing calculations. For questions that require inputs – questions that are not MCQs – follow these steps:
a. A virtual keyboard will appear on the screen just below the question statement of these types of questions. Use the on-screen virtual keyboard to enter the answer in the required space with the help of the mouse.
b. The answer can be changed, if required, at any time during the test. To save the answer, click on the “Save & Next” button.
c. To mark the question for review (with or without answering it), click on the “Mark for Review & Next” button.

JEE Advanced 2023: Navigating to a question
To navigate between sections of the JEE Advanced question paper, click on the preferred section from the displayed sections. To navigate between questions within the same section,
a. Click on the question number in the question palette at the right side of the screen to go to that question directly. Using this option does not save the answer to the currently displayed question.
b. Click on “save & next” to save the answer to any question. Clicking on “Save & Next” will save the answer for the current question and the next question will be displayed on the computer screen.
c. Click on “Mark for Review & Next” to mark a question for review (with or without answering it) and proceed to the next question.
